- Our fortnightly comprehension strategies are the features of retell. Children could practise these strategies at home while they are reading their home readers!
- Children are working hard on the 'Narrative Writing Process' and are producing some fantastic work. Most children have published their chosen drafts and are busy working on the front and back covers of their stories.
- We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips. It is great to see the student's hard work paying off.
- Children have recently been tested on their reading and their results have been very pleasing. Home readers are being sent home and the students may find them more challenging. Please encourage your children to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them some of the questions in their reading folder.

- Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number)
- Rainbow facts and doubles

- 'Split' strategy eg. 13+24= (10+20) + (3+4) = 37 In class children circle and link 'tens' and 'ones' rather than bracket tens and ones.

Homework:
- Homework began again in week 2. It is an expectation that children hand their homework in on a Monday and that homework is completed in PENCIL.
