Hello from 2G - Week 5

Literacy:
  • Our comprehension strategy is Making connectionsl. Children could practise this strategy at home while they are reading their home readers!
  • We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips.
  • Home readers have already started being sent home for term 4. The books should not be challenging and are used as reinforcement.
Numeracy:
  • Number patterns…counting in 2’s, 3's, 5’s and 10’s beginning at any number on the 200’s chart.
  • Rainbow facts and doubles
  • Addition and Subtraction
Religion
  • Working for Justice and Peace by linking messages from scripture to Missions today.
Homework:  
  • Please note homework is now given out on Monday and is due back the following Monday.
  • Please encourage students to take pride in the presentation of their homework
Integrated Studies:

  • How are Dreamtime stories important to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people?
Other messages:
  • Swimming has started...Wednesdays and Fridays.

  •  What forces are involved when paper planes  move through the air.
Other messages:

  • Please continue collecting construction items for our Design and Technology unit. Items needed include caps (milk bottle, soft drink bottle, etc), packaging in a range of sizes (shoe boxes, cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, etc) and any general construction items. Please keep the size of boxes to shoe boxes or smaller. Please do not send in toilet rolls.
