- Our fortnightly comprehension strategies are 'Predicting' and 'Retell'. Children could practise this strategy at home while they are reading their home readers!
- We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips. It is great to see the student's hard work paying off.
- We are in the process of rotating our Home Reader Boxes and as a result there may be a couple of nights that readers are not sent home.
- Please encourage your children to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them some of the questions in their reading folder.
- Information reports - we continue planning and writing information reports.
Numeracy:
- Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number)
- Rainbow facts and doubles
- Place value - ones, tens and hundreds
- Time - o'clock and half past
- Subtraction - understanding the relationship between addition and subtraction
- Fractions - halves 1/2 and quarters 1/4
- Division (equal groups / groups/ arrays)
Religion
- Value of the week:
- Exploring God's relationship with the Jewish people through Old Testament Stories - 'Abraham and Sarah'
Homework:
- Homework is given out each Monday and is due back the following Monday. Please encourage your child to take pride in the presentation of their work.
