Hello from 2Green - Week 9 & 10

Literacy:
  • Our fortnightly comprehension strategies are 'Making Connections'. Children could practise this strategy at home while they are reading their home readers!
  • We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips. It is great to see the student's hard work paying off.
  • New home readers are being sent home. Please encourage your children to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them some of the questions in their reading folder.
  • Please encourage your children to read over the holiday period.


Numeracy:
  • Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number) 
  • Rainbow facts and doubles
  • Place value - ones, tens and hundreds
  • Time - o'clock and half past
  • Subtraction - understanding the relationship between addition and subtraction
  • Fractions - halves 1/2 and quarters 1/4
  • Division (equal groups / groups/ arrays)
  • Chance
  • Problem solving

Religion
  • Value of the week:   
  • Who is Mary and how do we pray to Mary?
Homework:  
  • No homework

  • Prep-2 Sports Carnival - Monday, 19th June
  • Student portfolios - home Wednesday, 21st.
  • Student reports can be downloaded on Wednesday, 21st at 3pm.
  • Dance Fever Finale - Tuesday, 20th June - parents are invited to come along and watch!
