Hello from 4Navy - Week 2

Welcome to 4Navy!
The children have made a fantastic start to the year and have adjusted beautifully to their new routines.

Literacy:
  • Our weekly comprehension strategy is 'Facts vs Opinions'. Children could practise this strategy at home while they are doing their nightly reading!
  • Children are working hard at improving their writing with a focus on Information Texts.
  • They are working hard on their handwriting (entries and exits) and pencil grips. It is great to see their hard work paying off.
  • Please encourage your child to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them meaningful questions.

Numeracy:
  • Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number) and 3's up to 30.
  • Odd and even numbers
  • Place value to the thousands and ten thousands

Religion
  • Value of the week: Resilience
  • Vision Statement
Homework:
  • Homework will commence in week 3.
  • It is an expectation that children hand their homework in on a Friday and that homework is completed neatly. New homework will be given out on Friday afternoon.
