Literacy:
- Our fortnightly comprehension strategies are focussed on the features of retell - 'Complication and Exciting Endings'. Children could practise these strategies at home while they are reading their home readers!
- Children are working hard on the 'Narrative Writing Process' and are producing some fantastic work!
- We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips. It is great to see the student's hard work paying off.
- Home readers are being sent home and the students may find them more challenging. Please encourage your children to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them some of the questions in their reading folder.
Numeracy:
- Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number)
- Rainbow facts and doubles
- Numbers written in words and numerals
- Time - o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to
- Money
- Collecting and graphing data
- Arrays and groups
Religion
- Value of the week: Collegiality / Working together
- Healing broken relationships and the Sacrament of Reconciliation
Homework:
- Homework began again in week 2. It is an expectation that children hand their homework in on a Monday.
