Literacy:
Our weekly comprehension strategy is 'Main Idea / Key Points' - Information Texts
Children could practise this strategy at home while they are doing their nightly reading!
Children are writing their own Information Texts using key points researched from a variety of informative texts.
They are working hard on their handwriting (entries and exits) and pencil grips. It is great to see their hard work paying off.
Please encourage your child to read each night. Please help them to strengthen their comprehension of the text by asking them meaningful questions.
Numeracy:
Number patterns…counting forwards and backwards in 1's, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 1000 (starting at any number) and 3's up to 30.
Odd and even numbers
Place value to the thousands and ten thousands
Addition of whole numbers
Fractions
Frequency Distribution Tables and Picture Graphs
Religion
Value of the week: Service
Vision Statement
Structure of the Bible
Homework
Homework has commenced.
It is an expectation that children hand their homework in on a Friday and that homework is completed neatly. New homework will be given out on Friday afternoon.
