Hello from 2Green...Week 1

Welcome to Term 3!

Literacy:

•  Our comprehension strategy is visualising. Children could practise this strategy at home after they have read their home readers!
• We are learning about narrative texts in particular Fairytales.
• We continue working hard on our handwriting and pencil grips.
• New level home readers are being sent home now. The books should not be challenging and are used as reinforcement.

Numeracy:

• Number patterns…counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s beginning at any number on the 200’s chart.
• 2D and 3D shapes
• Introducing parallelograms (2D), pyramids, prisms and revising area

Religion

• Healing relationships through reconciliation
• Sacrament of Penance

Homework:

• Homework resumes this week
• Please note homework is now given out on Monday and is due back the following Monday

Integrated Studies:

• How has transport changed through the ages?

• We welcome Mrs. Anna Weir into 2 Navy for Semester 2.
